Heat Cable and Icicle Prevention
What Causes Ice Dams?
Icicles are caused from inadequate insulation and ventilation.

When heated air from the homes interior rises into the attic space (due to inadequate insulation) the warm air will melt the snow on the rooftop. Water from the melted snow will run down the roof to the eve where it no longer receives the warmer temperature and refreezes.
The continuing refreezing of this water runoff will eventually back up and cause an ice dam, causing water to eventually work its way below the shingles and continue downward into the home.
Heat Cable Icicle Prevention from All Gutter Systems
If there is no way to correct the problem and the need to eliminate icicles is still apparent, All Gutter Systems offers a heat cable solution both on the roof and in the gutter.

Heat cable produces a low level of heat when turned on, which can prevent ice dams. It is an appliance that can be simply plugged in or hard wired into a switch.
